Council staff have identified a number of trees that require attention within the South Street Reserve, 34a South Street, Bellerive also known as Council’s Dog Park.

The necessary work requires removal of 11 Eucalypts and Blackwoods and all small understory vegetation.  All stumps will be ground and each tree removed will be replaced with a like for like advanced tree.  The trees to be removed are identified by green triangles on the attached plan.

Additionally weight reduction and height clearance maintenance will be undertaken on the large Eucalypts on the Lower River Street boundary identified by a solid green line on the attached plan.

To reduce the immediate impact, these works will be undertaken in a staged process over the next few months and each area will be barricaded off only during the work to insure the continued safety of all users of the Dog Park.

Works are anticipated to commence with the removal of a large sick Eucalypt during the week starting 27 July 2015.
