Clarence City Council Mayor, Councillor Brendan Blomeley, has welcomed the Dean Winter and Labor’s announcement today of $5 million in funding towards Council’s Youth Centre relocation design and construction project.
“This is a fantastic announcement and a very welcome commitment to a highly valued and utilised service in Clarence,” Mayor Blomeley said.
“With the realignment of the South Arm Highway cutting though the current centre, funding for its relocation could not come at a better time.
“Council has proactively engaged with all Franklin candidates, sending a copy of the City of Clarence Prospectus 2023-24 and City of Clarence community-based election projects – March 2024, to every candidate in the Franklin electorate, to help them better understand the needs of our growing community.
“The Youth Centre relocation design and construction project is one of eight projects outlined in the Prospectus.
“Since the election was called, I have met with a range of candidates from across the political spectrum and will continue to do so throughout the campaign.
“Clarence City Council will continue to engage with the other political parties and Franklin candidates to ensure the best interests of our Eastern Shore community are well served.”
