Senior Childcare Support Worker (Cook)

We are seeking a wonderful Senior Childcare Worker (Cook) to join our Rosny Early Learning service, based in Montagu Bay on the Eastern Shore of Clarence. The service is a not for profit, community-based centre owned and operated by Clarence City Council.
Our vision is to provide a safe, happy, enriched, and sustainably minded environment which encircles children, families, service staff and our community. The team at the Rosny Early Learning service puts families and children at the forefront of everything they do.
Our service opened in 1988 and has an excellent reputation in the community as a provider of quality education and care. We cater for up to 38 children across three age-based rooms.
ABOUT YOU
- An ability to support the health and wellbeing of children by providing nutritious, culturally sensitive and seasonal menus for children enrolled in our service.
- An ability to ensure the safety of children in our care, by planning and preparing meals in line with dietary and allergen requirements.
- An ability to maintain the highest standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is in line with legislation and quality standards.
- Creativity and organisational skills to plan menus and order supplies.
- An ability to actively contribute to food-based experiences in collaboration with our dedicated team of educators.

WHAT WE OFFER YOU
A base salary between $59,752.57 and $60,930.51 (pro-rata) will be offered to the preferred candidate + 12.5% superannuation.
The role is ongoing and part-time. The work pattern is Mondays: 8 am – 1 pm and Tuesdays to Fridays: 9 am – 1 pm.

Engineering Officer - Student

We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate engineering student (university or TAFE) who has completed their second or third year of education. The role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a technical engineering team to deliver Council’s capital works program for roads, transport, stormwater, and asset management projects. We are looking for someone to bring their enthusiasm, methodical approach, and good interpersonal skills to this role.
This is a 12‑week placement where you will have the opportunity to work in the Infrastructure and Natural Assets group and be mentored by experienced engineers, project managers and technical staff to:
- Assist with project identification and scoping of roads, transport, traffic management and stormwater engineering projects.
- Provide input to investigation, design, and cost estimation for small to medium sized projects.
- Assist with preparation of contract documents and supervision of contract construction works.
ABOUT YOU
- Successfully completed 2 to 3 years of a tertiary engineering qualification (university or TAFE or equivalent).
- Proactively seeks instruction and guidance and approaches tasks with energy and enthusiasm.
- Has or willing to adopt a growth mindset and willing to learn and apply new skills.
WHAT WE OFFER YOU
We offer a 12 week employment agreement on a full-time (37.5 hours per week) basis.
A base salary of $66,218.98 – $73,292.57 (pro-rata) will be offered + 11.5% superannuation and a 19-day month.

Bushfire Mitigation Planning Officer

Clarence City Council, in Southern Tasmania, is transforming with our community and our workforce is growing and evolving. We’re seeking a capable and enthusiastic Bushfire Mitigation Planning Officer to develop, coordinate and implement the Clarence Bushfire Mitigation Framework, including the Bushfire Policy, Bushfire Mitigation Strategy, and the reserve Bushfire Mitigation Plans to effectively manage bushfire risk in Clarence.
Reporting to the Team Leader Environment and Biodiversity, this exciting and dynamic role offers a fantastic variety of field and office-based work, liaising closely with relevant stakeholders to identify and prioritise mitigation activities within designated Clarence Council reserves, while complying with relevant legislation including the Fire Service Act 1979.
ABOUT YOU
- Degree/Diploma in Natural Resource Management, Bushfire Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related field, or relevant industry experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of emergency management and bushfire risk management, including an understanding of the role of landholders and agencies in the management of bushfire risk.
- Capability to undertake bushfire hazard, risk and treatment assessments.
- Demonstrated practical experience in developing strategic plans for the implementation of a range of bushfire hazard reduction and land management activities to achieve prescribed outcomes in a timely manner and within budget.
- Demonstrated experience in applying bushfire mitigation strategies that sustain the natural environment by maintaining conservation values and biodiversity.

- Knowledge and skills to assist in the development and implementation of educational programs.
- Thorough understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and/or the Framework for School Age Care.
- Knowledge of child development and experience working with children in the childcare industry.
