Clarence Community Volunteer Service

Support Services

Council partners with the Clarence Community Volunteer Service to provide volunteer based service to the frail aged and younger people who live with a disability, including mental illness, in the City of Clarence. This service aims to assist clients to stay in their own homes and connect to their local community. Services provided include:

  • Befriending
  • Shopping assistance
  • Transport
  • Light gardening
  • Telephone support
  • Social support

Become a volunteer

The Clarence Community Volunteer Service is always keen for new volunteers to come on board. Volunteers give 1 or 2 hours, once a week, once a fortnight or even just once a month to support a client. Training, if required, is provided.

Requirements:

  • Current police check
  • Two referees
  • Access to own car and drivers licence (advantageous)
