The successful tenderer was Convic, who also built the hugely popular Kangaroo Bay Skate Park.
The council once again heard impassioned speeches from many South Arm residents in support of the park and there was a large contingent of young supporters with skate boards in tow.
“It will be fantastic for the young people in South Arm to finally have use of this park that they have campaigned so hard for,” said Mayor Chipman.
The park forms part of the South Arm Oval Master Plan which also includes the development a multi-use area including basketball facilities, a hitting wall for tennis, a play space for all ages plus native plantings and extra seating.
