What can go in garbage bins?

Standard, day to day, household rubbish, i.e. food scraps, packaging if not recyclable. All loose rubbish, polystyrene, foam and bean bag beans must be bagged before being placed in your bin.

What can’t go in garbage bins?

  • Bricks
  • Heavy timber or steel
  • Paint, motor oil, acid, solvent or chemical containers – these need to be taken to the Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station

Where does garbage go once collected?

The collected waste is transported to the Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station.

What to do with excess garbage

Rate payers can request a larger bin or an extra bin for an additional service fee. Please call us on 03 6217 9500 to arrange. Alternatively residents may take any excess garbage to the Mornington Park Waste Transfer Station. The cost of disposal of this excess garbage will depend on the quantity you deliver.
