The bus service changes are necessary for safety reasons as Banawarra Road is relatively narrow and larger vehicles, including buses, will be restricted during the works.
The works are expected to start Monday 9 September 2019 and be completed within a week, weather permitting.
Metro Tasmania has advised that the busiest buses, those prior to 9.00am and after 5.00pm, will operate as usual.
Services between 9.00am and 5.00pm on weekdays, will not service the area in Banawarra Road, Eurobin Street and Walana Street. During these times, buses will turn at the Fairfield Road/Banawarra Road roundabout and return along Fairfield Road. Patrons will need to embark/disembark at the existing bus stops in Fairfield Road. Metro will install notices on the changes at impacted bus stops and further information can be found on their website at https://www.metrotas.com.au.
