The Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC) administers all aspects of Local Government elections including the receipt of nominations from candidates and management of candidate information.
Once nominations have closed and candidates announced on 20 September 2022, their contact information can be obtained from the TEC to allow electors to contact candidates if they wish. The TEC also invites candidates to provide a link to their own website or Facebook page. These links are published on the TEC’s website (www.tec.tas.gov.au).
Providing information on election platforms is the responsibility of the individual candidate. Councils need to maintain neutrality regarding candidates for an election and cannot be seen as providing endorsement or favour to any one candidate over another.
