Council Offices
The Council Offices will close at 1.00 pm (payments to cashiers will be accepted until 12.00 noon) on Thursday 24 December and will be closed on the following days:
- Friday 25 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021
From Monday 4 January 2021 council offices will return to normal hours (8.30am to 5.15pm).
Mornington Depot
The Mornington Depot will close at 12.00pm on Thursday 24 December and will be closed on the following days:
- Friday 25 December 2020 – Sunday 3 January 2021
Staff will operate for emergency call outs as per normal office requirements which are currently seven days a week.
After Hours
For emergency services after hours including roads and stormwater, please ring – 03 6217 9700.
Dog and Animal Control
For urgent complaints outside normal office hours, please ring the after-hours number – 03 6217 9700.
Mornington Waste Transfer Station
The Mornington Waste Transfer Station will close at 4.00pm on Thursday 24 December and will be closed on Christmas Day. The station will be open from 8.30am until 4.00pm on the following days:
- Saturday 26 December 2020
- Sunday 27 December 2020
- Monday 28 December 2020
- Friday 1 January 2021
Other days will be as per normal operating hours (7.30am to 5.00pm weekdays and 8.30am to 4.00pm weekends).
Second Chance Re-use Shop
The Second Chance Re-use Shop will be open from 9.00am until 4.00pm on Thursday 24 December and will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Other days will be as per normal operating hours.
Collection of Garbage, Recyclables and Greenwaste
No collection of garbage, recyclables or greenwaste will occur on Christmas Day.
For those residents who would normally have garbage, recyclables and greenwaste collected on Friday 25 December, collections will be undertaken on Sunday 27 December. Collections on all other days over the Christmas/New Year period will remain unchanged.
Please ensure that bins are placed out for collection no later than 6.00am on collection day.
Clarence Aquatic Centre
The Centre will be closed on Christmas Day.
Wednesday 23 – 6.00am to 7.30pm (normal hours)
Thursday 24 Christmas Eve – 6.00am to 3.00pm (close early due to it being quite)
Friday 25 Christmas Day – Closed
Saturday 26 – Boxing Day – 9.00am to 4.00pm (normal hours)
Sunday 27 – 10.00am to 5.00pm – (normal hours)
Monday 28 – 10.00am to 5.00pm
Tuesday 29 – 6.00am to 7.30pm (normal hours)
Wednesday 30- 6.00am to 7.30pm (normal hours)
Thursday 31st- 6am to 3pm (close early due to being quite)
Rosny Child Care Centre
The Centre will be closed from 5.30pm Wednesday 23 December and reopen at 7.30am on Monday 4 January 2021.
Children’s Services – Alma Street (Family Day Care, Outside School Hours Care and Holiday Care)
The Children’s Service office will close at 1.00pm on Thursday 24 December and reopen at 9.00am on Monday 4 January 2021.
The School Holiday Program will operate at Lindisfarne and Montagu Bay primary schools from 8.00am to 6.00pm weekdays from Monday 4 January 2021 through to Friday 29 January 2021 (closed Australia Day public holiday – 26 January).
Clarence Community Volunteer Service
The Volunteer Service will be closed from Monday 21 December 2020 up to and including 17 January 2021. The office will reopen and service to clients will resume on Monday 18 January 2021.
Schoolhouse Gallery and Rosny Farm
The Schoolhouse Gallery and Rosny Farm will be closed from Thursday 24 December 2020. The site will reopen to the public on Saturday 9 January 2021 and resume normal opening hours which are Wednesday to Sunday 11.00am to 5.00pm. The office will reopen on Monday 11 January 2021.
Youth Services
The Youth Services office will close at 12.30pm on Thursday 24 December 2019 and will reopen on Monday January 2021. The centre will reopen to the public on Wednesday 6 January 2021.
The January School Holiday Program will be held on the following dates; Monday 18 January, Tuesday 19 January, Thursday 21 January, Friday 22 January, Monday 25 January, Thursday 28 January and Friday 29 January.
