Council wishes to provide an update to the Cambridge community on the development of the new park and playground at 29 Blossom Crescent, Cambridge.
Council tendered the project in late 2021 and engaged a contractor for the construction of the park. The works were programmed to commence in December 2021 and intended to be completed by mid-2022. Unfortunately, this contractor is no longer able to deliver the project.
Council is currently preparing to re-advertise the project for tender to engage a new contractor for construction. Council will provide a further update to the community with an expected timeline for completion when the tender process is completed.
We understand community anticipation for this project has been building and ongoing delays in delivery are frustrating. We reassure you that council is committed to the project, funding has been allocated and set aside, and we are looking forward to completion of the park and playground for the enjoyment of the Cambridge community.
