A BUSHFIRE ADVICE MESSAGE FOR WAVERLEY FLORA PARK, WARREN COURT, MCCLEMENTS STREET, NANKOOR CRESCENT

There is a bushfire at Mcclements Street, Bellerive.

There is no immediate threat.

Fire under these conditions can be difficult to control.

The fire has been contained.

TFS have requested the public not to enter the Waverley Park, Mornington as a number of trees have been damaged by fire and pose a serious risk to members of the public that may walk through the park. A tree safety inspection will be conducted this morning. Clarence City Council will advise when the park has re opened

What to do:

People in Waverley Flora Park, Warren Court, McClements Street, Nankoor Crescent should keep up to date by listening to ABC Local Radio or look at the TFS website at www.fire.tas.gov.au.

Well prepared homes are defendable in these conditions.

If you are not prepared for a bushfire, think about leaving for a safe place if it gets more dangerous.

Council’s fuel reduction program undertaken in the area allowed the Tasmania Fire Service to get the fire under control quickly.

Waverley Flora Park is now open to the public.
