Our summer beach dog restrictions have begun today (1 December 2025). These rules help everyone enjoy the coast safely during our busiest time of year.
Restricted dog walking times
Between 10am-6pm dogs on the following beaches:
- Opossum Bay
- South Arm
- Cremorne
- Seven Mile Beach (from Esplanade to day use area 2)
- Roches Beach (from Mays Point to Bambra Street)
- Howrah Beach
- Bellerive Beach (from Beach Street access to second bluff)
On-lead Areas
Dogs are welcome on-lead at:
- Roches Beach (from Bambra Street north to the reef adjacent to 11 Kirra Road)
Off lead areas
Dogs under effective control are welcome at:
- Roches Beach (from the reef adjacent to 11 Kirra Road north towards Seven Mile Beach)
- Seven Mile Beach (day use area 2)
- Shelly Beach (from Bangor Road east to Icehouse Bluff)
Not permitted
Dogs are not permitted at any time on:
- Bellerive Beach (from Beach Street access to first bluff)
- Little Howrah Beach
