The Department of State Growth has recently assessed the children’s crossing on Beach Street, Bellerive, and determined that it meets the criteria for a School Crossing Patrol Officer (SCPO).
We are proud to announce a new SCPO will be in place from Monday 13 October 2025, to coincide with the start of the school term.
The SCPO will be on duty on school days at the following times:
- Morning: 8.00 – 9.00 am
- Afternoon: 2.45 – 3.15 pm
How you can help keep the crossing safe
On behalf of the Department of State Growth we ask all drivers and community members to support the SCPO by following these important safety rules:
- Stop when the school crossing guard displays their STOP sign.
- Remain stopped until all people are safely off the road.
- If there is a traffic island, wait until your side of the crossing is clear before proceeding.
By following these simple rules, we can help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our crossing guard, children, and families.
