From today, Monday 17 August, the speed limit on Direction Drive and Sollamer Place in Otago has been reduced from 100 km/h to 60 km/h.
Electronic roadside message boards were installed to alert motorists to the change, and new 60 km/h speed limit signs should now be in place.
The speed limit reduction has been approved to improve safety for all road users.
Motorists are reminded to look out for the new signage and adjust their speed accordingly.
