The Tasmanian Government plans to start construction of a new Park and Ride facility at the corner of Rokeby Road and Tollard Drive in late 2026.
The facility will allow people to park their car and continue their journey by bus, providing another public transport option for people travelling to Hobart.
We approved a development application in June 2026.
The Tasmanian Government has released a feedback summary report from its community consultation in 2025.

The Tasmanian Government’s project will include:
- up to 199 car parks, including five accessible spaces
- 10 motorcycle spaces
- secure bicycle storage for 37 bikes
- new bus stops on Rokeby Road, Pass Road, and Commerce Drive
- covered bus shelters
- shared paths connecting to nearby walking and cycling routes
- a new pedestrian crossing on Pass Road, providing access to Glebe Hill Shopping Centre
- lighting and other safety improvements
- infrastructure to support possible future CCTV.
