Parking at Petchey Street will be temporarily impacted by a townhouse development at 8 and 10 Petchey Street, Bellerive.

Parking availability at the Bellerive pier has already been reduced due to Building Tasmania’s ongoing works at the Bellerive Ferry Terminal. Temporary parking changes connected to the Petchey Street development will further impact parking.

The Petchey Street construction work for the 17-dwelling townhouse development will start on Monday, 12 October 2026 and is expected to continue until April.

To help with construction work, a five-minute Work Zone will be signposted at the King Street end of Petchey Street.

Road access will also be temporarily impacted, and traffic management measures will be implemented.

Roadwork signs will be in place, and traffic controllers may be required during stormwater and sewer works (which will occur for approximately a two-week period).

Heavy vehicles connected to the construction will also be using this area during the construction stage. They will travel along Clarence Street, Scott Street, and along King Street to Petchey Street.

Both the Petchey Street development and the Bellerive Ferry Terminal upgrade will bring future benefit to Bellerive.

We will continue to work with both project teams to minimise the disruptions and keep the community informed during this period.
