Repair works to the centre cricket pitch at North Warrane Oval have now been completed, and the pitch will reopen from 10 February.
The pitch was previously closed after significant damage was identified, believed to have been caused by bikes being used on the synthetic surface. The damage extended through to the concrete base, making the pitch unsafe and unusable.
Damage of this kind impacts the entire community by disrupting sporting competitions, placing unexpected costs on facilities, and limiting access for players and clubs. We ask all visitors to please respect sporting infrastructure so it can be safely enjoyed by everyone.
