The Lindisfarne Oval No. 1 is temporarily closed to cricket matches due to a protected species of bird nesting on the oval.

Scheduled cricket matches are unable to be played on the oval at this time.

Plovers (masked lapwings) are a protected species, nesting sites cannot be moved, and the scheduled matches cannot be played to protect the bird and its eggs.

Lindisfarne Cricket Club and Cricket Tasmania are aware of this closure.

Training on some sections of the oval will remain available for training purposes.

Further information about living with plovers can be found at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
