At the Council Meeting on 12 October 2026, Council:
- considered the representations received and endorsed their original position to support the amendment for rezoning and associated planning permit (for the consolidation of two lots (2 Piper Road & 647 East Derwent Highway), 54 Residential (Retirement Village) Units, demolition of existing dwelling and outbuilding at 647 East Derwent Highway and associated work) with no further modifications.
- endorsed the removal of the “Park Reserve” notation from the title to Council-owned public land at 8B Bangalee Street.
- approved the disposal of approximately 599m² of public land at 8B Bangalee Street, Lauderdale, to the State Fire Commission, subject to the required approvals.
- resolved to postpone the ordinary Council Meeting from Monday 9 November 2026 to Monday 16 November 2026 to allow statutory notice and distribution timeframes to be met following receipt of the Certificate of Election.
- passed a procedural motion to defer Councillor Blomeley’s Notice of Motion regarding support for outdoor dining on footpaths and public spaces to the next Council meeting pending an officer’s report.
- passed a procedural motion to defer Councillor Hulme’s Notice of Motion regarding lease fees for sports clubs to the next Council meeting pending an officer’s report.
- passed a procedural motion to defer Councillor Goyne’s Notice of Motion regarding acknowledging the impact of domestic and family violence and committing to awareness training to the next Council meeting pending an officer’s report.
- passed a procedural motion to defer Councillor Ritchie’s Notice of Motion regarding implementation plans for council master plans to the next Council meeting pending an officer’s report.
