Looking to empower young people and support their growth? Join our dynamic Youth Services team and play a key role in delivering impactful programs across schools and community settings. We’re seeking passionate, flexible, and motivated Youth Workers to support the delivery of high-quality, inclusive services that reflect the diverse needs of our young community.
Key responsibilities
- Support the delivery of youth-focused programs, events, outreach, school holiday, and recreation activities.
- Facilitate safe, inclusive spaces for young people through supervision and engagement.
- Provide information, referral advice, and advocacy for young people and their families.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative documentation.
- Foster strong communication and positive relationships with young people.
- Collaborate with schools, services, and community partners.
- Uphold youth work ethics, safety legislation, and best practices.
About you
You’ll bring energy, empathy, and a strong commitment to supporting young people, along with:
- Knowledge of youth work principles and relevant frameworks.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when needed.
- Experience leading group activities and delivering youth programs.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Cultural awareness and a commitment to inclusive practice.
- Must hold a National Police Check and Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (non-negotiable and candidate’s responsibility.
- You must be available to work weekdays from 3 p.m. during school terms.
Desirable but not essential: A relevant qualification (or working toward one), a current driver’s licence, and a valid First Aid certificate.
What we offer you
- Hourly rate between $38.73 and $42.45 (includes casual loading) will be offered dependent on skills and experience + superannuation
