We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Officer to help maintain council buildings and facilities. In this hands-on role, you’ll manage maintenance programs, support projects, and ensure our assets meet safety and service standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver scheduled and reactive maintenance across council buildings
  • Manage small projects and contracts, including the Cleaning Contract
  • Ensure works meet Building Code of Australia standards
  • Support council facility strategies and improvement plans
  • Oversee maintenance at the Clarence Aquatic Centre.
  • Conduct inspections and report on safety and maintenance issues
  • Identify ways to improve maintenance practices and systems
  • Contribute to budgeting and capital works planning

About you

  • Knowledge across multiple trades and maintenance practices
  • Experience managing contracts, procurement, and budgets
  • Strong problem-solving, time management, and organisational skills
  • Confident using digital tools and systems
  • Available for after-hours and on-call work

What we offer you

  • Base salary between $89,760.55 and $99,774.18 will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 12.5% superannuation
  • Fixed-Term (12 months), Full-Time
  • Monthly rostered day off
