Be at the forefront of advancing the City of Clarence’s commitment to Tasmanian Aboriginal People, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples through the implementation of council’s Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). The role will lead the implementation of our RAP, collaborating closely with colleagues, business and community to embed and promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural safety across council.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and monitor council’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
  • Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with teams to deliver RAP initiatives and promote cultural safety across council.
  • Manage communications to showcase council’s RAP commitments and achievements.
  • Develop partnerships with community groups, service providers, and other councils.
  • Contribute insights, policy advice, and project support to strengthen community engagement and inclusion.

About you

  • Tertiary qualification or diploma in community services, social or behavioural sciences, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and evaluating Reconciliation Action Plans.
  • Strong skills in community engagement, partnership building, and leading others in diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Excellent project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, using sound judgment and initiative.

  • Base salary between $92,004.56 and $102,268.53 pro-rata will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 13% superannuation
