We’re on the lookout for a motivated and resourceful Planner with great communication skills to join our growing team. You’ll get to work on a wide range of planning applications and be part of some interesting projects. You’ll be joining a supportive, knowledgeable and experienced City Planning team that values collaboration and fresh ideas.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide clear, timely planning advice to developers, the public and internal teams
  • Assess use development and subdivision applications in line with statutory requirements
  • Undertake site visits and contribute to planning investigations and compliance
  • Liaise across council teams and with external stakeholders to support well-rounded decision making
  • Prepare documentation and support planning matters through formal processes where required
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning systems, services and policies
  • Support your team and wider department with planning knowledge and professional advice

About you

  • Suitable tertiary qualification in planning or associated field, or satisfactory progress towards such a qualification.
  • Solid understanding of planning legislation, processes and current issues
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Tech-savvy with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in statutory planning, preferably in local government (desirable)

What we offer you

  • Base salary between $89,760.55 and $99,774.18 will be offered (dependent on skills and experience) + 12.5% superannuation
  • Permanent/full-time
  • Monthly rostered day off
