In December, we’re hosting a range of free events to support the International Day of People with Disability.

The United Nations International Day of Persons with Disability (3 December) promotes disability rights and inclusion for all.

The day challenges stereotypes and negative attitudes towards disability, recognising and celebrating the many achievements and contributions of people with disability. It also encourages open conversations in our communities to increase understanding about the lived experiences of disability.

This is just one of the many ways we’re working to make Clarence a more inclusive place for everyone, so come along and get involved.

The events include:

  • Learn to Play Accessible Golf with disability golf professional Adam Holden
  • Beyond Sound: The Music in All of Us
  • Swinging Christmas

For more information, or to book your attendance, see below.

Learn to play accessible golf with disability golf professional Adam Holden

Hosted by Empower Golf, players of all abilities are invited to give accessible golf a try. Learn to play in a welcoming environment, and enjoy a free afternoon tea, ball and club hire, and expert tuition.

Beyond Sound: The Music in All of Us

Hosted by the Sheperd Centre Tasmania, we’re supporting a sensory adventure of rhythm, movement, and song for children aged 0 – 5 and their families. The free event is for hearing impaired children but is also open to the broader community.

Swinging Christmas at Rosny Farm

An Auslan interpreter will be attending our annual Christmas event on 5 December, making it more accessible for more people in our community. This is a free event with Christmas music and entertainment, from 6.30pm, hosted by The Grinch.

More information about this event at Rosny Farm.
