Need to declutter? Why not host a garage sale and join one of Australia’s biggest sustainability events.
The Garage Sale Trail is held over two weekends, inviting people to hold a weekend garage sale on 7 – 8 November or 14 – 15 November.
The event allows people to host a garage sale or market and promote it for free while giving people the chance to attend multiple sales over two weekends and grab themselves a pre-loved bargain.
More than 300,000 Australians get involved, with garage sale hosts earning an average $761.
In 2023 over 11,600 Clarence residents participated in the event with 278 garage sales held across our city, saving more than 125 kg of waste from landfill.

Whether you’re a homeowner, community group, school, or local business, you’re welcome to join the trail, registering your own personal garage sale, or combining forces to join a group!
All you need to do is add in your detail about where and when you are hosting your sale. Your listing will then be added to the Garage Sale Trail website. Once you register a sale you can also download a free promotional pack containing posters, social media tiles, letterbox slips, and prices.
