We now have a Resource Recovery HUB (Recycle Wall).
The Recycle Wall is a convenient drop-off point for everyday household items that can’t go in your kerbside recycling bins (yellow lid).
Got a handful of old pens? A small bag full of cables and cords? A few pairs of old glasses lying around?
Take them to our Recycle Wall, which is located in the entrance foyer at Council Chambers, 38 Bligh Street, Rosny Park.
The wall makes it easier for people to recycle items that still have value, giving them a second life through specialist recycling programs.
It keeps waste out of landfill, recovers valuable and useful materials that would otherwise be thrown away, and moves us towards a more circular economy.
It’s helping us meet our sustainable goals.
The following items can be dropped off at our Recycle Wall
- X-rays
- Glasses and eyewear
- Toys (small only)
- CDs and DVDs (no cases)
- Coffee capsules (any brand)
- Cables and cords
- Pens and markers
For the safety of our community and officers, batteries aren’t included as they can be a fire risk, while broken light bulbs may contain hazardous materials. When choosing what to add to our Recycle Wall we also tried not to include items that can already be recycled nearby.
We’ll keep reviewing how the Recycle Wall is used and may add other materials, including items such as toothpaste tubes, in the future.
Please note:
The Recycle Wall is available during business hours. It is only for small household/domestic amounts. Think a handful, a few items, or a small bag’s worth. Anything left on the floor or dropped off outside opening hours may not be recycled.
