Join our Youth Services team and contribute to the delivery of programs and activities for young people in the Clarence community. You’ll work alongside a supportive team to create positive and engaging experiences for young people.
What you’ll be doing
- Plan and deliver engaging, needs-based programs and activities for young people.
- Build positive relationships with young people, schools, community organisations and support services.
- Listen to young people and help identify emerging issues, barriers and opportunities.
- Connect young people and their support networks with appropriate services and support.
- Keep accurate records, collect information and contribute to reporting and program evaluation.
- Work collaboratively with the Youth Services team to create safe, inclusive and positive experiences for young people.
What you’ll bring
- A Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services or a related discipline, or significant relevant experience.
- Experience developing and delivering programs or group activities for young people.
- A good understanding of best practice approaches to working with young people and relevant child and youth safety requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build respectful, professional relationships.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute positively to a team.
A current Tasmanian full driver’s licence, First Aid Certificate, Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (employer check) and National Police Check (dated within 6 months) are required.
Why you’ll love working with us
- Base salary between $80,872.81 and $93,433.58 pro rata (depending on skills and experience) + 13.5% superannuation
- Permanent
- This is a 20-hour per week position. Our preferred arrangement is Tuesday to Friday, approximately 12.00 pm to 5.00 pm, to align with our youth programs. We can be flexible with the working arrangement for the right person, where it meets program needs.
