Joining our City Planning team, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on a diverse range of development applications and projects that influence how our community grows and evolves. What you’ll be doing

• Provide clear, timely planning advice to developers, the public and internal teams.
• Assess use, development, and subdivision applications in line with statutory requirements.
• Undertake site visits and contribute to planning investigations and compliance.
• Liaise across Council teams and with external stakeholders to support well-rounded decision making.
• Prepare documentation and support planning matters through formal processes where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of planning systems, services and policies.
• Support your team and wider Group with planning knowledge and professional advice.

What you’ll bring

• Suitable tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional Planning or associated field, or satisfactory progress towards such a qualification.
• Solid understanding of Tasmanian planning legislation, processes and current issues.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Tech-savvy with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience in statutory planning, preferably in local government. (Desirable)
• National police check certificate (dated within 6 months) prior to commencement.
