Bring your engineering expertise to the delivery of Council’s road and transport program. You’ll scope, plan and manage routine infrastructure projects, provide technical advice and work with contractors and stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes for our community.
What you’ll be doing
- Scope, plan and deliver road and transport infrastructure projects in accordance with Council’s Roads Asset Management Plan and Capital Works Program.
- Undertake project management activities across the project lifecycle, managing routine road and transport projects from planning through to completion.
- Coordinate workflows and work closely with contractors, project managers and internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery and quality outcomes.
- Maintain accurate asset data and support future project prioritisation.
- Provide advice on civil engineering, roads and transport engineering matters, particularly in relation to project scoping, design and project delivery.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing technical expertise, collaborating across teams and supporting improvements to processes, standards and ways of working.
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, and/or at least three years’ relevant experience in traffic, transport, roads, highways, asset management or infrastructure project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in road asset management and/or the planning, design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, including construction reviews and inspections.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively, prepare clear documentation and develop practical solutions for stakeholders.
- A data-driven, adaptable and solutions-focused approach, with strong digital literacy and the ability to navigate complex challenges, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
- National police check certificate dated within 6 months, current Tasmanian driver’s licence and Construction Industry White Card.

- Base salary between $96,696.79 and $107,484.22 (depending on skills and experience) + 13.5% superannuation
- Fixed-term 2 year contract, full-time
