Some of our key community engagement principles are:
- to ensure engagements are accessible, visible, age and stage appropriate, and provide a range of ways in which the community can participate (online and in-person)
- to provide opportunities for the community to be deeply involved through all stages of development with consultation and reporting for every stage.
- to ensure community feedback is an integral part of the decision-making process right from the start and ensure key council staff are available throughout the project.
- to ensure a wide range of voices are consulted and engaged throughout
- ensuring our engagement approaches meet stakeholder preferences and capabilities, and expert knowledge and feedback is sought and incorporated.
