Celebrate National Science Week by exploring one of Clarence’s unique saltmarsh environments with Conservation Volunteers Australia.
Join Senior Wetland Ecologist Bec Sheldon for a guided walk to discover the fascinating plants and wildlife that call the saltmarsh home. Learn how to identify saltmarsh species, observe local birdlife and gain an insight into the ecological importance of this special habitat.
After the walk, you’ll have the opportunity to help improve the site by planting 50 native plants. These new plantings will replace weeds, provide shelter for birds and create food sources for native mammals and invertebrates.
Located on the land of the Mumirimina people, this saltmarsh is home to many native species with important bush tucker and bush medicine significance.
