Melody Towns is a social entrepreneur and advocate whose work focuses on combating human trafficking and supporting vulnerable women through the charity Be Hers.
After hearing firsthand accounts of women and children being trafficked and exploited, she was deeply moved to act.
What began as a small fundraising event with friends grew into a movement driven by the belief that ordinary people can play a role in confronting modern slavery and supporting those affected by it.
Melody went on to establish Be Hers, which is dedicated to raising awareness of human trafficking while providing practical support for women who have experienced violence, exploitation or social vulnerability.
Be Hers operates community programs, mentoring services and social enterprises that provide training, employment pathways and safe spaces for women—many of whom are refugees or survivors of trauma.
Through these initiatives, Melody and her team aim not only to address the harms of exploitation but also to restore dignity, independence and hope, empowering women to build stable futures for themselves and their families.
