Join the Rotary Club for an informative presentation by Dr Bert Shugg, a retired medical practitioner with 40 years of experience in medicine, including work as a rural general practitioner and consultant paediatrician, predominantly in Tasmania.
Dr Shugg’s interest in voluntary assisted dying (VAD) has developed over time, shaped by personal experiences involving patients, colleagues and family. These experiences have given him a deeper understanding of the complex and often deeply personal considerations surrounding end-of-life care.
In this presentation, Dr Shugg will share some of these experiences and explore the medical and ethical issues surrounding voluntary assisted dying. The talk will provide an opportunity to consider the complexities of VAD and the perspectives that inform discussions around this important topic.
Come along for an engaging and thought-provoking presentation, followed by an opportunity to reflect on the medical, ethical and personal dimensions of voluntary assisted dying.
