Inspired by the ABC documentary series “The Matter of Facts”, this free community workshop will help participants better identify and challenge false information online.
Rosny Library presents the Australian Library and Information Association and Western Sydney University, in partnership with the ABC, the workshop is designed to equip communities with practical media literacy skills to navigate today’s complex digital landscape.
Facilitated by Lucy Breaden, 936 ABC Hobart Drive presenter, alongside library staff, the two-hour session will include a presentation, guided discussion and interactive activities. Participants will also receive take-home resources to continue exploring the topic after the workshop.
“The Matter of Facts” follows former war correspondent Hamish Macdonald as he investigates the growing spread of misinformation and disinformation, and the impact it can have on what we believe, how we behave and who we vote for.
