This free Lifeline Accidental Counsellor training session is for anyone who would like to help friends, family, colleagues, or strangers, in emotional distress.
It follows Lifeline’s Recognise, Respond, Refer model, providing people with the skills to effectively support those in crisis. This includes people experiencing stress, mental health issues, domestic violence, or other personal matters.
It will help people recognise signs of emotional distress, teach active listening skills, and build confidence to ask the right questions.
The session is open to everyone.
It may be particularly useful for those working in very people-facing roles and sectors, such as salons, beauty clinics, cafes, restaurants, retail stores, and health administration.
The evening session will be held upstairs at Clarence on the Bay from 4pm until 7pm. Food will be provided.
If you would like more information about the session, or to book your attendance, registrations can be made via Lifeline.
The Accidental Counsellor training session is held in partnership with Lifeline, the Mental Health Council of Tasmania, and the Tasmanian Government.
