Clarence City Council has launched its new community engagement platform Your Say Clarence.
The online platform will offer residents and visitors an easy way to contribute to the conversation on issues they are passionate about and help to shape decisions about the city.
Users of the platform can also receive regular updates on consultations that they have contributed to and be alerted of other public consultations of interest.
The online software is already used by several other local government organisations in Tasmania and interstate and Mayor of Clarence, Doug Chipman, believes that the platform will help residents to feel more engaged within the community.
“Your Say Clarence is an innovative, user-friendly platform that will greatly increase the capacity for Council to consult with the community,” Mayor Chipman said.
“The residents of Clarence, and those that visit and use our many beautiful beaches, parks and trails, are engaged and want to be able to have their say on the issues that matter to them – and we want to listen.”
Clarence City Council is currently seeking community feedback on a proposed smoke free zone around Blundstone Arena and on the development of council’s Access and Inclusion Plan for 2019 – 2020.
