Please be advised that next month council will be undertaking works to improve the crossing located at the Lincoln and Franklin Street intersection in Lindisfarne.

The works are expected to begin on Monday 13 September, weather permitting, and will take approximately 10 weeks to complete.

They will include the installation of a ‘wombat crossing’, footpath upgrade on either side of the crossing, removal of the existing pedestrian island, minor service relocations and upgraded street lighting.

Throughout the construction period, there will be single lane closure. Local traffic access will be maintained, and a detour will be in place for other traffic.

Cars travelling eastbound (toward the East Derwent Highway) will be detoured up Wellington Road, and Franklin Street will remain open to cars travelling from either direction.

We ask road users, pedestrians and cyclists to please observe signage and take extra care when travelling near the area.
