Road Closures

Given the concentration of people expected to attend Blundstone Arena for these events, significant planning to manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic has been undertaken in consultation with Tasmania Police. These safety measures are in place to ensure safety and security of both patrons of the event, as well as residents and users of the area. As such, your cooperation with police and traffic management staff is appreciated when accessing and egressing the area. For your convenience and to assist with planning, a map of road closures and timings is attached.

The following streets will be subject to road closures for general traffic on each event day:

  • Park Street (entire length between Scott and Derwent Streets)
  • Church Street (entire length between Scott and Beach Streets), one way only for local traffic
  • Derwent Street (between Douglas Street and the entrance to the beach car park), one way only for local traffic.
  • A section of The Cottage School side of Queen St between Cambridge Road and the Crown Street Intersection.

Due to the road closures, the 616 service via Bellerive Bluff will be impacted on Friday 14th, Monday 17th and Tuesday 18th. Please see the Metro website for more information on this.

Public Transport

  • There will be a complimentary bus service running to and from various suburbs in operation providing patrons with the convenience of travelling to the venue on public transport. This will assist in easing traffic and parking concerns in the Blundstone Arena – Bellerive precinct.
  • The Ferry Service from constitution Dock to Bellerive Quay will also be running an increased regular service for Friday 14th to Sunday 16th January to provide an alternative mode of public transport. This will again assist with easing parking and traffic in the Blundstone Arena and Bellerive precinct.

Parking

Free parking for patrons is being provided at the South Street reserve. On-street parking restrictions will be put in place from 6am on match days.

The Parking Hotline will be established, if you are inconvenienced by inconsiderate on-street parking near your house, please call the hotline which is provided and attended to by the Clarence Council on 03 6217 9589 to seek assistance.
