Kangaroo Bay Urban Design Plan

In 2008, Clarence City Council adopted an Urban Design Plan for the Kangaroo Bay waterfront. The plan ensures that an integrated approach is taken to future development by addressing land use planning, infrastructure, landscaping, public amenity and access issues.

Council adopted the plan following extensive community and stakeholder consultation, involving residents, community and sporting groups, schools, government agencies and business.

The plan includes the upgrading and landscaping of Kangaroo Bay Drive, new traffic access arrangements, redevelopment of the old ferry terminal site, sport and recreation facilities, and a foreshore promenade around Kangaroo Bay linking to the Bellerive Boardwalk.

The project will establish the right balance between tourism, commercial, residential and recreational activities.
