CITY OF CLARENCE  PUBLIC PLACES BY-LAW  (NO. 1 OF 2018)

Council’s Public Places and Permits By-Law (No. 1 of 2007) for the management of its public places has expired and Council intends to make a new By-Law.  The objectives of the proposed By-law have not changed but the By-Law has been redrafted to make it simpler to read and to reflect changes to the regulatory environment in which the By-law operates.

The objectives of the By-Law are to address a range of amenity issues associated with the use of public places which are owned by or under the control of the Council within the City of Clarence. The primary features of the By-Law are to regulate and manage Council’s public places and to grant permits or licences for a range of uses in those public places.

A Regulatory Impact Statement (RIS) has been completed to assess the direct and indirect social, economic and environmental impacts of the proposed By-law.  It is envisaged the proposed By-law will have minimal impact on the community or user groups.

Any member of the public may make submissions in writing concerning the proposed By-Law by forwarding a submission to the General Manager, Clarence City, Council, PO Box 96, Rosny Park, 7018 by Friday 23 February 2018.

A copy of the proposed By-Law and the RIS are available below and from Council’s offices.

Please contact the Council’s Corporate Support Group (Ms Clare Shea) if you have any enquiries on 6217 9526.
