The Draft Strategic Plan 2016-2026 provides a framework for the delivery of Council’s services and facilities to best meet and respond to the community’s needs and expectations.

Mayor of Clarence, Alderman Doug Chipman said five overarching goals had been established which underpin the strategic plan to ensure Council continue to meet its vision of a vibrant, prosperous and sustainable city.

“At the heart of this new strategic plan is our community. We must continue to be a city where we embrace diversity, equity and inclusiveness and be a place where residents have the opportunity to improve their health and quality of life,” Mayor Chipman said.

“To complement this we need to ensure we have a well-planned city supported by services and infrastructure, find ways to grow our economy, protect, manage and enhance our natural environment and assets, and embrace creativity, innovation and enterprise.

“In developing the draft plan, we have looked at strategies that not only meet the current needs of our community but ensure that we are equipped to address future challenges. I encourage our community to have their say on this important document.”

To read a copy of the plan and to have your say, visit the Council’s website at www.ccc.tas.gov.au/consultation. The public can submit feedback online, by mail, email or at Council Offices.

The closing date for comment is Friday 16 September 2016.

Feedback from the community will be collated and considered for inclusion in the final version of Strategic Plan 2016-2026.
