Clarence City Council recently completed the Wentworth Park Bike Education Track, a place where young children can ride their bike while learning important road safety principles along the way.

The track, which caters for young children aged roughly between 5 to 10 years, features speed humps, give way and stop signs, a roundabout, rail crossing, traffic lights, pedestrian crossing and give way intersections for children to navigate through on their bikes.

Mayor of Clarence, Alderman Doug Chipman is pleased to see a bike education facility in Clarence.

“A track of this kind gives our youngsters the chance to develop road safety skills that can be used later in life,” Mayor Chipman said.

“We have been overwhelmed with the positive response the track has received, particularly on social media, and it is heartening to see so many kids enjoy the track.”

Council is building further play facilities for children including a playground, barbecue and toilets at Kangaroo Bay Parklands and an extension to the Simmons Park Playground. Construction will also commence on the Bellerive Beach Park playground later in the year.
