The Tasmanian Electoral Commission is encouraging voters to ‘Make Your Mark’ this election.

However, if you have an intellectual, cognitive or psycho-social disability, or have difficulty reading and understanding the written word, ‘making your mark’ may not be as easy as it sounds.

This Easy Read information guide has been developed to make it easier for people to understand why it is important to vote, and how to do it.

The first of its kind in Tasmania, this Easy Read guide was initiated by Clarence City Council and funded in partnership with Glenorchy City Council, Hobart City Council, Kingborough Council, Huon Valley Council, 26TEN and the Local Government Association Tasmania (LGAT).

The guide was produced by Speak Out Advocacy Tasmania.

You can download a copy of the guide here.

You can also pick up a hard copy at council’s offices or call 6217 9728 to request a copy to be mailed to you.

Impartial Assisted Voting: There will be support available at each council across Tasmania for people who require support to vote. For more information, please visit the Tasmanian Electoral Commission website: www.tec.tas.gov.au/local-government/elections-2022/impartial-assisted-voting.html.
