FOUR legged friends will be out in force this weekend when Clarence City Council’s Dog’s Day Out event will return for its 15th consecutive year despite COVID-19 Restrictions.

This year the pawpular event will take on a new format due to current COVID-19 social distancing requirements but it will still be a the ultimutt celebration of furry friends.

The event will be held this year at Simmons Park, Lindisfarne and the changes will be no dampener on the fun had by the dogs and their humans alike but registration for free tickets is essential for participation in 2020.

“Council is thrilled we can bring back one of our most-loved events, Dogs Day Out for 2020, despite the upheaval COVID-19 brought to our event calendar earlier in the year,” said Clarence City Council Mayor Alderman Doug Chipman.

“We expect to see a sell-out of free tickets with hundreds of hounds enjoying the open spaces we provide at picturesque Simmons Park.”

The event will take in a walking trail of stalls, activities, competitions and local business Moto Vecchia and the Lions Club providing coffee and a BBQ.

As well as the Dogs will have a ball taking on the agility course, and joining in on Poses for Paws DOGA (also known as dog yoga).

Proud fur-parents will have the opportunity to have their beloved pooched sit for a Pawly Done Pawtrait, with local artist, Laura Gillam plus enter them in the Best on Day Competition with cute categories including the waggiest tail, owner look-alike and of course best dressed.

Those considering a pawfect addition to the family were able to visit the Dogs’ Home of Tasmania and the Greyhound Adoption Program as well as get free advice from onsite vets and trainers.
