Clarence has 191 kilometres of coastline, providing many opportunities to enjoy the area's natural coastal environment.

Popular beaches in Clarence
  • Bellerive Beach: the main suburban beach in Clarence and is popular for family picnics, walking, jogging and water activities.
     
  • Howrah Beach: another major suburban beach in Clarence and is popular in fine weather for family picnics, walking, jogging and water activities.

  • Seven Mile Beach: is the closest surfing beach to Hobart. 

  • Lauderdale Beach: is a popular suburban beach which faces east and is sheltered from the southern swells and Tasmania's predominant south westerly winds. 

  • Clifton Beach: one of Tasmania's most popular surfing beaches.

  • Cremorne Beach: is a popular beach for the locals. It faces east and is sheltered from the southern swells and Tasmania's predominant south westerly winds. 

  • South Arm Beach: is sheltered from swells travelling up the Derwent River. 

  • Opossum Bay Beach: a sheltered beach and great location for a picnic.
