Festival of Smiles is a free event to celebrate International Day for People with Disability (IDPwD) which aims to celebrate our abilities and break down disability barriers.
The new name ‘Festival of Smiles’ captures the essence of the day – people of all ages and abilities enjoying a variety of fun activities.
Activities this year include drumming workshops, kite flying, carnival games, train rides, massages, a social circus, a treasure hunt, face painting, and a barbecue.
For the past six years, Clarence City Council has worked closely with Glenorchy City Council, the City of Hobart, and TasCare Society for Children to provide a community event to celebrate IDPwD. This year Glenorchy will be hosting the Festival.
Festival of Smiles will be held on Sunday 27 November from 11am-2pm at Montrose Foreshore in Glenorchy. For more information about the Festival of Smiles contact Julie Andersson at Clarence City Council on 6217 9597.
