Workshop at the Schoolhouse GallerySchool Holiday Workshop program

During each school holiday period the site hosts a range of popular and affordable arts based workshops. Activities in the past have included, drawing, acting, clay, silk painting, drumming and circus skills.

The program is advertised through schools newsletters, Council's Artsnews newsletter and posters and fliers in key locations such as Council offices and the Rosny Library.

Rosny Farm Education Program

Dig It, Chores and Chilblains, and Art on Site are three education programs structured into a half-day activity for mid to upper primary school students and family groups.

Dig It is an archaeology program that focuses on the many uses of the Rosny Farm over time. The students participate in a mock archaeological excavation learning about the process of archaeology through active participation in the excavation process resulting in uncovering 'artefacts'.

Students will analyse their artefacts and relate them to the different eras of the Rosny site through guided investigation. Post visit activities may include undertaking documentation and interpretation of the artefacts and development of a site report.

Chores and Chilblains focuses on changes to domestic technology from the early 1900s to the 1950s in a household context using items in the cottage collection to identify changes in technology.

Art on Site is a program which encourages interpretation of the site through sensory art experiences. Students will be guided in ways of recording their impressions of the site through drawings and mono-prints.
