Clarence has a temperate climate.

Mean maximum daily temperatures are 22.4C in January and 12.4C in July.

Mean minimum daily temperatures are 11.9C  in January and 4.1C in July.

The eastern shore of the Derwent River is recognised as being consistently warmer than the Western Shore. The Southern regions of Clarence are affected by a daily sea breeze during the Summer period.
