School Posters Competition

'Don't Waste Waste'

2016 marks the 10th year of the Clarence City Council Poster Competition. The poster competition follows the format of previous competitions which have featured water conservation, heritage, sustainability and beach care themes.  This year the theme is Don't Waste Waste.

Students are invited to create a poster illustrating fun new ways to recycle or reuse a typical item of waste.

Winners will be announced at the Schoolhouse Gallery Awards Ceremony, 10:30am, November 16 2016. Winning posters will be featured in the design of a set of collectable Christmas cards, available free to the public.

Participating schools are asked to short-list several poster entries into the categories below to be collected by Council staff during the week of 23 September 2016.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • prep to year 2;
  • years 3 & 4;
  • years 5 & 6; and
  • Mayors choice.

Participating schools will receive a $50 book voucher.  Winning poster entries will receive a certificate and a $50 book voucher.  One highly commended poster entry from each participating school will receive a $30 book voucher prize and certificate. The recipient of the Mayors prize will receive a certificate and a 1.8m replas Kimberly seat for their school.

Short-listed poster entries will be on public display from 16 - 23 November 2016 at the Schoolhouse Gallery, Rosny Farm.
