Hobart International AirportThe Hobart International Airport (HIA) is the major domestic and international gateway to Tasmania for commercial aircraft.

The airport has both domestic and international terminal complexes, in addition to air freight, airport car parking, aviation fuel, air traffic control, maintenance, customs and immigration, quarantine, and meteorological facilities.

The Hobart International Airport is an important international and domestic air freight centre with major commodities handled including seafood, fruit and vegetables, flowers and livestock.

The Hobart International Airport is located at Cambridge within the City of Clarence. It is sited just 12 kilometres east of the Clarence central business district and 17 kilometres from central Hobart via the dual carriageway Tasman Highway.

Flight travel times are approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to Melbourne and 1 hour 50 minutes to Sydney.

The airport is also recognised as having an increasing role as a base for air services to the Antarctic research stations.
